The basic function of the Diesel Technician is to troubleshoot, clean, inspect, and maintain heavy and support equipment at the transfer station and material-recovery facilities safely and professionally
Your Role:
Troubleshooting heavy equipment.
WeldingMaintain and repair various types of heavy equipment, diesel motors, and hydraulic systems.
Take an active role in improving safety and health in the workplace.
Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.
Maintains reasonable, regular punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medial Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other federal, state and local standards.
Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.Your Skills:
Ability to use various vehicle tools such as hand tools, electric tools, pneumatic tools, jacking equipment, safety stands, and electronic testing equipment.
Ability to receive, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to read and understand parts and service manuals.
Ability to prepare legible and understandable work orders and schedule completion sheets.
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
Lifting moderate to heavy material is required.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GEDDriver's LicenseSupervisory experienceASE CertificationTow Motor CertificationAir Brakes CertificationDemonstrated mechanical skills.
Must supply own tools.2-5 years experience in a transportation environmentDesirable, although not essential, requirements: CDL B
