Description
Research Associate II
Our client is a small biotech company that is looking for a passionate Research Associate I/II who can contribute to murine model development and is excited to work in a rapidly growing organization. This position entails a heavy emphasis on rodent handling, working cross functionally, maintaining SOPs and experiment records, while supporting vivarium operations.
Job Functions
-Maintain mouse colonies
-Contribute to design and execution of in vivo model and POC studies
-Investigate mechanisms of AAV gene therapy
-Assist the construction of new techniques and/or optimization of current techniques
-Perform in vivo lab dosing (ip, iv, sc, im, etc.)
-Husbandry, bleeding, and whole blood/tissue collections.
-Comply with IACUC standards of in vivo research
-Record data and perform statistical analysis
-Document all experiments and data in electronic notebook
-Collaborate with interdepartmental teams
Qualifications and Skills
-B.S with at least 2+ years of animal handling experience in industry is required
-Animal handling, anesthesia, drug dosing (i.v. injections), tissue and blood collections.
-Fundamental understanding of hematology: coagulation, thrombosis and hemostasis
-Hands-on experience with rodent in vivo/ex vivo models of hemostasis and bleeding
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively
-Strong organizational and time-management skills
-A desire to learn new techniques
-Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism.
-Excellent oral and written English communication skills
