- Work under the guidance of senior tool and die personnel to interpret drawings, sketches, samples, and job instructions for planning and executing tasks.
- Conduct necessary mathematical calculations for allowances in fitting and finishing operations.
- Collaborate with machinists on complex tasks and lay out work as required.Set-up and operate all machine tools, determining alignments, locations, and speeds.
- Perform work indication to identify runouts or misalignments.
- Provide troubleshooting and repair assistance to set-up technicians.
- Keep the work area and equipment tidy and organized.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance on dies accurately.
- A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for completion of a technical or trade school program in a related field.
- A minimum of 1 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and sketches.
- Advanced understanding of shop mathematics and handbook formulas.
- Familiarity with basic computer operations, including email, Excel, and web-based applications.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to make informed decisions, plan and execute tasks, and identify equipment issues.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
