    Unless specifically stated otherwise, this role is "On-Site" at the location detailed in the job post.
    Operate all encapsulating machines in order to manufacture enzyme based nutritional products. There will be opportunities for cross-training in the Blending Department and the Packaging Department.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time. Attendance is key to performing the job.

    Include, but are not limited to, the following;Assists Encapsulating Supervisor and assumes supervisory responsibility for a shift in the absence of the Encapsulating Supervisor.

    Monitors the progress of training new employees.
    Assists in the initiation, development, validation, verification and revision of SOPs.
    Monitors inventory of non-product supplies.
    Responsible for verifying and checking accuracy of work orders.
    Operate automatic and semi-automatic encapsulating machines.
    Properly read and comprehend encapsulating record sheets.
    Properly clean and place numbers on barrels to be used in encapsulating rooms.
    Take capsule weights and make adjustments, when necessary to automatic encapsulation machines.

    Monitor part change overs on all encapsulating machines when needed and make minor repairs to all encapsulating machines, when needed.

    Monitor cleaning and preparation of encapsulating machines for the next formula of powder.
    Inspect capsules as they are produced by the encapsulating machines.
    Operate and read table top scale.
    Serve as a back-up for Machine Operators as necessary.
    Conduct visual inspection of encapsulated product to detect and remove defective products.


    Cleaning and General Maintenance:
    Cleaning and maintenance of encapsulation areas

    EQUIPMENT USED:
    Encapsulation and inspection equipment, personal computer workstation, telephone, facsimile machine, copier, material handling equipment

    Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
    High school diploma or GED preferred. Must have six months experience as an operator.


    LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    Ability to write simple correspondence.
    Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

    REASONING ABILITY:
    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardization situations.


    OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    Must have manual dexterity, attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.
    Must be good communicator and self-motivated.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.

    The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
    The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel and crouch.
    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

    Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and move at least 150 pounds using a pallet jack, dolly, or other material handling equipment.
