Job description
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
- Cleaning and sanitation of the facility on a daily basis according to schedule.
The daily routine cleaning duties:
Sanitizing and relining trash receptacles and disinfecting restrooms in assigned
areas.- Surface cleaning (furniture, desks, walls, doors, garbage cans and waste baskets,
etc.). - Sweeping and mopping floors, residents' rooms, hallways, offices, dining areas,
restrooms and stairwells. May vacuum all areas, dust and polish. Gathers and
disposes of refuse and hazardous waste. Residents' room cleaning must include:
Sweep, dust, and remove trash.
- Report to Operations Manager, Director of Facilities or Executive Director
if food is being left opened in room.
- Check curtains for wear.
- Follow proper procedures for stocking housekeeping cart and closets.
- Take adequate precautions for controlling cross infections by following Universal
Precautions.
- All housekeepers must report to work in assigned uniform, appropriate shoes as deemed
by the facility, and name badge.
- All housekeepers must report all problems, concern and maintenance issues to Operations
Manager, Director of Facilities or Executive Director. Report any hazardous situation
immediately to the Director of Facilities, Operations Manager or Concierge.
- All housekeepers must act in a courteous, professional and appropriate manner always.
- All housekeepers must follow specific job descriptions as posted and given by Director of
Facilities.
- Census dictates duties. At times duties will overlap with other job descriptions in
department.
- In addition to the above, complete other jobs given by the Director of Facilities or senior
management
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak clearly and understand the English language.
- Ability to follow and complete basic written and oral directions.
- Ability to work well under time constraints.
- Satisfactory references.
- Housekeeping experience preferred.
