Summary of Role:

The AI/ML Solutions team in GlobalFoundries has a primary mission of delivering data engineering, advanced analytics, and machine learning applications that advance our Smart Manufacturing effort. We are involved in the entire application lifecycle from concept to deployment. The intern for this role will contribute to our understanding of how AI/ML technologies can help solve business problems.

Essential Responsibilities include:

• Engineer the data as needed to enable analytics and machine learning application development
• Learn and explore new technologies in the AI/ML space
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills
• Ensure that processes are well documented
• Present project status to peers and the leadership team as needed

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Education – Actively pursuing a Bachelors in Data Science, AI/ML, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
• Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
• Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Actively pursuing a Master's in Data Science, AI/ML, or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
• Prior related internship or co-op experience
• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
• Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning & organizational skills
• Experience building at least one AI/ML application
• Skills in Python, mySQL, and/or no-code ML applications (e.g. KNIME)
• Exposure to or experience with AWS and/or Azure environments
