    Job Description

    • GP Transco is looking for a dynamic, driven safety manager, with a strong understanding of FMCSA rules and regulations, to join our team at our home office in Joliet, IL. The safety manager will be responsible for ensuring the company is in compliance with all federal, state and local safety and transportation laws, rules and regulations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Develop, execute, manage and maintain effective driver safety training programs in compliance with FMCSA, OSHA and company policies including annual physicals, drug and alcohol screening programs, annual reviews, driver licenses, vehicle inspections, permitting to comply with all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations,

    Implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, federal laws, rules and regulations including FMCSA and Department of Transportation (DOT),

    Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure effective and consistent implementation of regulatory and internal requirements,

    Provide awareness of pending and upcoming changes to FMCSA and state DOT regulations to ensure the company is prepared for future compliance requirements,

    Audit and review electronic reports and logs as well as assist drivers with discrepancies and issues, train drivers in proper usage of ELD system (Samsara), provide support for ELD problem resolution,

    Coach, counsel and deliver corrective action to drivers as necessary,

    Perform safety surveys and inspections, prepare reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures were indicated and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented,

    Manage and supervise all safety operations within the company including, but not limited to, safety training programs,

    Review pre-trips and post-trips, DVIRs,

    Supervise reports and assist in safety operation functions including, but not limited to, decisions regarding hiring, training, placement, discipline, and termination of company employees,

    Assist management on projects as needed, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    A minimum of 1 year of experience in safety, transportation, logistics is preferred,

    Experience with ELD provider Samsara is preferred,

    Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of FMCSA rules and regulations,

    Comprehensive knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Microsoft Word etc.,

    Must be resourceful and skilled problem solver,

    Ability to coordinate and execute multiple tasks and projects with completing priorities,

    Must be strong individual able to take initiative and complete projects from concept to completion,

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills,


    Must be willing to be part of a fast moving and growing team with the drive to maintain a high level of professionalism.


    JOB TYPE:
    Full-time, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon-Fri.
