MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY: Under the supervision of the HDM/Outreach Services Manager, this position will assist with the preparation of meals for the home delivered meals program in the city of Bismarck and Burleigh County, ND. The hours for this position are from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

1. Lead and assist with the packaging and delivery of the meals.
2. Coordinate and assemble frozen meals for congregate and HDM participants.
3. Assist HDM/Outreach Services Manager with necessary paperwork and other tasks as requested.
4. Cooperate with kitchen staff, and other employees and volunteers, in the preparation of the meals.
5. Ensure that a systematic approach is utilized in the packaging and delivery of meals and referral of meal services that include changes in daily deliveries.
6. Ensure that meal delivery equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
7. Provide back-up to HDM volunteers. Deliver meals to clients when there is a shortage of HDM drivers.
8. Keep accurate records on the number of meals provided to each participant. Submit this information to HDM/Outreach Services Manager on an ongoing basis.
9. Keep the HDM/Outreach Services Manager informed of information that may influence decision making for the Home Delivered Meals program.
10. Understand and be able to communicate the criteria of eligibility for a home delivered meal.
11. Perform all other duties as assigned by the HDM/Outreach Services Manager and/or Executive Director.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

· High school education mandatory. College credits in communication, both oral and written, are preferred.
· Be able to demonstrate organizational skills.
· Skills in business mathematics and computers required.
· Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team.
· Must be empathetic to older people.
· A valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation required.
