    Education and/or Experience:

    Must have obtained: 1) High School degree; 2) Associate's degree or higher, or completed two years (48 semester units) of study at an institution of higher education, or must pass District adopted test meeting State and Federal rigorous standards; and 3) One year additional training or experience working with students in a structured classroom or equivalent setting is required.

    Higher education may substitute for experience. CPR and First Aid Certification must be obtained prior to hire. See job description for additional information.


    Testing Information:
    Paraprofessional Test must be completed/passed prior to start date (if the test is required in lieu of education)


    Location:

    Adult Education - 575 Hays Street - Woodland, CA Room F4 Dates/Times: Tuesday - at 9 a.m., Thursday at 5 p.m.

    Call to schedule a testing appointment.

    Thorough understanding of the instructional assistant programs throughout the District is required. Understanding of the practices and principles of child guidance is required. Working understanding of the District and school site organization, operations and objectives is necessary. Sufficient analytical and assessment skills to document student progress are required. Sufficient communication skills to work with teachers and students in both formal and informal settings are essential. Requires good record keeping, clerical and computer skills. Demonstrated language proficiency on the District's Bilingual Exam.

    Comments and Other Information

    The District will contribute towards health benefits on a prorated basis (based on employee's work year and hours assigned). The benefit package includes options for medical, dental and vision. Medical plan options include Kaiser, Western Health Advantage and Sutter Health Plus. $9,360 per year for Employee-only medical benefit selection. $11,400 per year for Employee+1 or Family medical benefit selection.
