    Job Summary: My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ESG/Corporate Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. As an Associate General Counsel specializing in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters, you will play a pivotal role in advising the organization on a wide range of legal issues related to sustainability, corporate governance, and social responsibility. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding our company's strategic decisions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering our commitment to responsible business practices.

    Responsibilities:

    1. ESG Strategy Development: Lead the development and implementation of ESG strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives and values.
    2. Legal Counsel: Provide expert legal advice and guidance on ESG-related matters, including environmental compliance, social impact initiatives, and corporate governance best practices.
    3. Policy and Procedure Review: Review, draft, and revise company policies, procedures, and disclosures to ensure alignment with ESG principles and regulatory requirements.
    4. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and emerging trends in ESG, advising internal stakeholders on compliance obligations and potential risks.
    5. Corporate Reporting: Oversee the preparation and review of ESG disclosures, reports, and filings for regulatory agencies, investors, and other stakeholders.
    6. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, NGOs, and community groups, to address ESG-related inquiries and concerns.
    7. Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence reviews of ESG issues in connection with mergers, acquisitions, investments, and other corporate transactions.
    8. Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on ESG principles, compliance requirements, and best practices.
    9. Risk Management: Identify and assess legal and reputational risks associated with ESG factors, collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement.
    10. Thought Leadership: Stay actively involved in industry forums, conferences, and working groups, contributing to thought leadership initiatives and representing the company's interests in ESG-related discussions.

    Qualifications:

    • JD degree and active bar membership.
    • 8+years of ESG and corporate law experience.
    • Deep understanding of global ESG frameworks and emerging trends.
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
    • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
    • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and corporate responsibility.
