    Duties


    • Processes a variety of personnel and resource requests, maintains personnel and training records and department documents, compiles statistics, and develops a variety of written documents for supervisor review.
    • Applies knowledge and experience to unique and varying situations, identifies potential problems, and provides recommendations to supervisor for resolution.
    • Processes customer inquiries relative to a broad range of subjects.
    • Conducts spot-checks and ensures training records and files comply with organization policies and accreditation standards.
    • Receives, reviews and maintains all incoming mail.
    • Performs in and out-processing of newly assigned hospital staff members.
    • Prepares, processes, and monitors status of personnel actions such as performance appraisals, hiring actions, awards etc.
    • Collects data from various sources, monitors and tracks obligations and expenditures of funds.
    • Prepares, processes, and tracks purchase orders for equipment, office supplies and materials.
    • Maintains directory of persons and offices frequently called or likely to be called, and places calls as requested

    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
    • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment

    Qualifications Specialized Experience:
    One year of specialized experience which includes processing a variety of personnel and resource requests, maintaining personnel and training records; prepare and submit time, attendance, and payroll; perform fiscal analysis of department level funds; and procure office equipment, supplies, and materials
    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06)
    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify
    For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted

    Proficiency Required:
    This position requires a qualified typist
    A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors

    Time in Grade Requirement:
    Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-5
