    JOB SUMMARY To support Fleet Technician II and Fleet Technician III in maintaining safe, reliable, and cost-efficient vehicles by conducting quality preventive maintenance checks and repairs, as well as diagnosing and fixing issues to prevent breakdowns on the road, minimize vehicle downtime, and enhance overall fleet reliability.
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assist Fleet Technician II & III in conducting necessary inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency throughout the fleet's life cycle.
    • Perform FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections on all fleet vehicles in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
    • Execute quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
    • Address driver vehicle inspection report write-ups promptly and accurately.
    • Diagnose malfunctions and carry out repairs to manufacturer specifications.
    • Document all work performed on work order using established format.
    • Develop proficiency in Sysco computer programs.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training from a 2-year school preferred.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    Experience
    • No experience necessary.
    • Current and valid driver's license (CDL Preferred).
    Professional Skills
    • Basic knowledge and skill of all vehicle systems and components.
    • Understanding of diagnosis and repair of electrical systems.
    • Proficiency in welding and cutting techniques. Basic computer skills.
    Qualifications
    • Technicians must have their own tools necessary for maintenance work.
    • Regular performance evaluations for improvement and training needs.
    • Certifications in specific areas preferred but not required.
    • Completion of Sysco training modules.
    Physical Demands
    • Diverse physical requirements including lifting, reaching, climbing, and manual dexterity.
    • Specific vision abilities are needed for the job.
    Working Conditions
    • Exposure to various environmental conditions.
    • Non-traditional work hours and occasional travel may be required.
