    Job Description Summary

    The Product Engineer will work in a production shop environment and serve as the technical leader learning the processes, hardware, specs, and quality requirements. You will have hardware ownership as PE with midframe and/or component hardware of a midframe. Green Cell is also a Model line and will be undergoing a transformation during 2024 which will expose them to lean principles and techniques. This is an invaluable opportunity to be in a dynamic area with regular report outs and visibility to senior leadership. The Product Engineer will be coached and given autonomy to have a fulfilling role with plenty of opportunity to learn and grow. High opportunity area for RCCA and process improvement.
    KPIs include (safety) improvement of I&I's, (quality) first time yield improvements and Cost of Quality (rework and scrap), (delivery) midframes shipped, (inventory) reduction of aged WIP, (productivity) process improvements to increase efficiency. Quantifiable job outcomes include reducing cost of quality (rework and scrap) by 50% year over year, reduce MRB (Material Review Board) line items by 25% year over year, reduce aged WIP greater than 365 days to $0, support a zero I&I safety culture, and production ramp to 15 and then 20 midframes per week

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
    • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
    • Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
    • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing).
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in Manufacturing or an MEDP Graduate
