    SOC Operator I is responsible for receiving and evaluating arrivals at the gate to provide a great customer experience and make sure our guests and staff are sent to the correct locations. Specific duties include evaluating each arrival to ensure they have met the required entry standards and get to the correct location to facilitate their needs.

    SOC Operator I work in the Summit Operations Center (SOC) which is the central communications center for the SBR. The SOC is a twenty-four hour, seven days per week operation involving multi-department dispatching and information dissemination.

    SOC Operator I ensure that all informational updates are communicated to appropriate personnel and between SOC Operators. SOC Operator I monitor day-to-day gate operations and camera review situations that may arise.

    Reports To: SOC Ranger, Supervisor Facilities Services, Manager Facilities

    Principle Responsibilities:

    • Monitor gate operations.
    • Interact with all Staff, Participants, Guests, Vendors, and Contractors to facilitate entry onto the site.
    • Provide pertinent operational information to SBR leadership.
    • Abide by the SBR Seasonal Employee Handbook.
    • Any other duties as assigned by Direct Supervisors or General Manager

    Qualifications & Training:

    • Must be able to effectively manage flow of information from multiple sources, prioritize communications and provide appropriate responses.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in person or on a telephone/two-way radio (verbal), in written form (email, IM, text, and Word) and in person with staff, peers and guests/customers.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift and handle materials up to 70 lbs
    • Must be able to work shift work and duties
    • Must meet the Summit Bechtel Reserve's high adventure height/weight requirements as laid out in the Summit BSA Health & Medical Record

    Uniform:

    Summit Staff or SBR Branded Shirt, Earth toned shorts or long pants, closed toes shoes.

    10x12' Platform Tent; National Scout Camp Staff Base Camp
