    Job Summary:
    The school nurse supports student success by providing health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all children within the school setting. The school nurse addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of students and supports their achievement in the learning process.

    The school nurse will be responsible for updating student health information in the student database system (Skyward) throughout the school year.

    The school nurse will assist with health screenings as needed for IEP meetings.

    The school nurse will be responsible for submitting vaccination, dental, vision, and hearing information as required per the Illinois State Board of Education.

    The school nurse will provide training for staff and hygiene/nutritional presentations to students throughout the school year.

    **Other duties as assigned**

    School Nurse must be vaccinated to include COVID vaccines.

    Minimum Credentials Required: Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Licensure per State of Illinois guidelines. Professioanl Educator Licensure for Certified School Nurse preferred. (The school district is willing to assist in obtaining the final licensure required to become a certified school nurse).

    Salary: In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreeement, the school nurse position is considered a Hard-to-Fill position (MA+45) + $5,000 stipend. Up to 10 years of nursing experience can be given.

    • Monday to Friday -8:00am-4:00pm
    • 210+ days - August 1 - June 30th; off the month of July; holidays off correspond with teaching staff
    Work Location: In person (Candidates located in Illinois are preferred due to the need to fill the position).
    Bilingual preferred - Spanish
