    We are one of Southern Michigan's premier, custom design/build remodeling companies and are looking for an entrepreneurial leader to head up our Construction Division.

    The Construction Manager will lead and manage the design process, estimating, and field team to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction, quality custom work, and financial success.

    You will also meet with potential clients, develop project estimates, and perform onsite coordination of installs. The selected candidate will have a unique opportunity to mold a growing team for peak success.
    Preference will be given to candidates completing the skills assessment for the position.
    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Ensure each project and the division overall run efficiently and are meeting budgets and financial targets, anticipating and controlling any deviations.

    Develop and implement solutions to correct any deviation and/or conflict.
    Ensure the division's financial success through constant review and highlighting and controlling any anticipated deviations.
    Participate as a member of the management team.

    Meet with potential clients at their home to determine the scope of work and prepare timely, accurate estimates using project management software, achieving company benchmarks for key financial metrics.

    Review the division's approved project estimates and scope of work for accuracy, assuring it achieves company financial metrics.
    Lead and manage the team within established sales and design processes to ensure effective project delivery and success. Mentor the team by contributing process improvements, specifications clarification, training, methodology, and best practices.
    Oversee scheduling of work in line with company goals, objectives, and values.
    Recruit and retain employees and subcontractors.
    Monitor subcontractor and vendor performance.
    Ensure safety measures are followed on all job sites.
    Communicate and manage all issues and risks affecting the projects.
    Maintain positive relationships with jurisdictions and building officials.
    Analyze data to help improve decision making.
    Manage the field team for construction projects.
    Requirements and Skills
    Take ownership of the design/build process from start to finish.
    Ability to lead, coach, and manage a team to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
    Ability to manage multiple projects, schedule work, and effectively communicate project status to clients, subcontractors, and team members.

    A strong understanding of construction project estimating with demonstrated experience in the use of industry software for estimating and project management.

    Strong understanding of estimating and scheduling, along with an ability to read and interpret construction documents and building codes.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation/sales skills.
    Ability to interpret client wants and present solutions clearly and simply.
    Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
    Strong planning, mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    Process oriented, detailed, and organized.
    Reliable, timely, and driven with advanced time management skills.

    Experience and Education:
    At least 4 years of construction management and estimating experience are required.
    Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Some combination of education and experience will also be considered.
    Previous experience with Buildertrend is preferred. Demonstrated successful experience with similar software and/or technological experience required.
    A valid driver's license and good driving record are required due to the need to visit clients.
