    Description

    Design Engineering Intern

    Company Overview: Join Navico Group Tulsa IPD Test Lab as a Design Engineering Intern where you will assist the Engineering Team in prototype development and product testing. You will be in charge of maintaining lab equipment, building prototypes, and ensuring the safety of the boat fleet.

    Job Description:

    • Execute product validation testing with detailed reporting
    • Communicate test data and issues with the engineering team
    • Build prototypes based on engineering data
    • Design and fabricate test fixtures
    • Provide technical assistance for test equipment operation
    • Perform basic electronic circuit modifications
    • Assist with on-water product validation testing
    • Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement repair solutions
    • Operate and maintain the Navico Group Tulsa boat and vehicle fleet
    • General shop and lab upkeep

    Secondary Functions:

    • Complete special projects as assigned
    • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
    • Contribute to decision-making affecting corporate strategy

    Requirements:

    • Associates or Technical degree preferred
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to learn new software packages
    • Quick adaptability in a competitive environment
    • Basic machine shop experience
    • Experience in a lab environment and marine electronics a plus

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    • Requires minimal travel
    • Work in an office, laboratory, and marine vessel service environment
    • Must be able to operate a computer and lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to stand, sit, walk for extended periods
    • Work in various outdoor and confined spaces, at heights, and around marine vessels
