    Public Affairs Specialist – Content Creator

    Position Details

    Stewards Individual Placements (Stewards) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. Stewards in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management are seeking an intern who will work with Public Affairs within the BLM Utah's Color Country District to communicate the agency's policies, programs, and projects effectively to the public and stakeholders. The Public Affairs Specialist – Content Creator internship offers an invaluable opportunity to contribute to community outreach and media relations efforts, enhancing public understanding and engagement with land management and conservation practices.

    Position Responsibilities will include:

    ·Inventorying, Updating, and Editing Content

    oManage and refresh content across district websites and public resources

    ·Content Creation

    oDevelop engaging stories and posts for social media and other platforms to inform and captivate the public

    ·Field Visits and Reporting

    oVisit project sites to gather information, conduct interviews, and document findings for public dissemination

    Minimum Requirements:

    ·Applicant must currently be enrolled in college or university.

    ·Interest in public affairs, media relations, and land management

    ·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    ·Possess Valid US Drivers License with an insurable driving record of 3 years

    ·Applicants must pass criminal background checks for both DOI and AmeriCorps eligibility

    ·Must be 18 years or older

    ·Must be a US Citizen or legal US resident
