    System One is currently seeking two experienced engineers for the Electrical and I&C Systems department in Site Engineering for our nuclear power plant client located in Waterford, CT.

    *These opportunities require candidates to reside in the Waterford, CT area.

    Our client will provide full relocation assistance as needed.**Positions will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

    Candidates will fill positions in the Electrical and I&C System Engineering Group.


    Specific duties include:

    • Monitoring and trending of electrical system health.
    • Preparation of engineering technical evaluations.
    • Development of maintenance strategies and corrective action plans and supporting development of design change documentation.
    • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

    Candidates will assist with troubleshooting a broad range of electrical power and I&C issues on both the component and system level.

    Candidates will be expected to have familiarity with nuclear power plant design, including the electrical distribution system and/or the instrumentation and control systems at the nuclear station.

    A training program will be provided for the new candidate to obtain a required basic level of knowledge to understand plant design basis, operations, maintenances as well as work planning structure, including normal and emergency operating procedures.

    Candidates with 3+ years of relevant engineering experience will be expected to lead small, cross-functional groups in solving system problems and planning for future equipment reliability.

    They are expected to be able to work with minimal supervisor direction.

    Candidates with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience will be expected to lead larger, multi-discipline groups in solving system problems and planning for future equipment reliability.

    They are expected to be able to work independently on assigned tasks. This specific position may lead special efforts to improve and sustain equipment reliability.


    Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals; requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position.

    Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives.

    Understands and can apply knowledge of configuration management.
    Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.)Planning, organizational and project management skills.
    Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills.
    Effective decision making, oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing) are a must.
    Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
    Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices.
    Equally effective working independently or in a team environment.
    Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.


    Required Experience:
    Engineer II/Engineering Technical Specialist II:3+ years of relevant engineering experience

    Engineer III/Engineering Technical Specialist III:


    5+ years of relevant engineering experience.*Note:A partial year of work experience of 6 months or greater will count as one year toward the required years of experience.

    A master's degree will count as one year toward the years of experience.

    Military service members and veterans with ranks from E-3, W1, or O1, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above are encouraged to apply.

    For a candidate to qualify for placement within the engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:

    Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, OR possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S.

    which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, OR possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, OR holds or has previously held a valid U.S.

    Professional Engineer license.


    Education Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree is required within an engineering discipline, Electrical is strongly preferred.
    Engineering Technical Specialist can hold a BS Degree in another technical field OR additional relevant engineering experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
