For additional information on CORE, please visit our website: ,The CORE Business Analyst will work directly with the CORE Executive Director and Associate Director of Operations to provide budget modeling and forecasting through budget analysis, projections and what -if scenarios with budget sources that are varied and complex. Using discretion and independent judgment, this individual will perform a variety of analytical and business functions to support budgets and contracts by collecting information, analyzing data, and maintaining records to be used in business planning. Translate complex data into easy -to-use spreadsheets and tools. Drive process innovation and distillation of complex financial information. Define, memorialize, and streamline business processes and functions to achieve efficiency and to help the organization meet strategic goals. Effectively communicates and presents oral and written information and reports to a variety of customers and stakeholders including CORE leadership, CORE Contract Managers, members of technical teams, and internal (Yale New Haven Health System and Yale University) and external stakeholders. Develops new or improves current policies and procedures for business analytical work.     Responsibilities
    • 1. Business Modeling and Forecasting
    • 2. Provides analysis to determine present and future business performance
    • 3. Organizes information from a variety of sources for use in analyzing plans and forecasts
    • 4. Collaborates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, prepare, and present recommendations regarding business activities
    • 5. Researches and collects data to help resolve issues and make recommendations
    • 6. Business Analysis and Reporting
    • 7. Analyzes data to meet the needs of the organization, including creating accurate and timely reports
    • 8. Extracts data from multiple sources and critically reviews available information from these sources to determine the quality of an analysis
    • 9. Creates what-if models and forecasting for leadership and management
    • 10. Develops and maintains dashboards to identify trends and ensures compliance with established best practice metrics
    • 11. Evaluates, implements, and sets business metrics so that the needs of the organization are met
    • 12. Business Methods and Systems
    • 13. Drive process innovation and distillation of complex financial information
    • 14. Recommends methods to improve practices, processes, and implements user-friendly tools and easy-to-use spreadsheets and reports
    • 15. Works with internal contacts to carry out department objectives
    • 16. Collaborates with stakeholders to develop procedures and workflow improvements to resolve problems and improve outcomes
    • 17. Provides a high level of service that cultivates and maintains strong working relationships and effectively communicates information
    • 18. Is accountable for timeliness and accuracy of work product

    • 20. Collect and analyze data and maintain records for strategic business planning
    • 21. Identify business needs through various requests and develop strategies to meet those needs
    • 22. Reports business issues and risks and makes recommendations
    • 23. Compliance and Risk Management
    • 24. Ensures business reporting meets the compliance needs of internal and external users
    • 25. Create guidance documents, policies and procedures for business operations tasks and analysis
    • 26. Drive communications to keep teams in compliance with processes
    • 27. Interprets and ensures adherence to requirements /regulations established by sponsors including federal agencies (e.g., Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, National Institutes of Health), Yale New Haven Hospital/Health, Yale University, and other agencies. Ensures compliance with data use agreements, conflict of interest, contractual, regulatory, and reporting requirements

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION

    Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance, or a related discipline, is required

    EXPERIENCE

    A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or economic concepts, including budget planning and analysis. Experience with business, data or financial analysis using PC based software programs and automated database management systems

    SPECIAL SKILLS

    This position requires experience with process optimization and team coordination, well-developed communication skills, and advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools. Specifically, candidate must have strong data visualization, verbal communication, and presentation skills. Prior training experience a plus. Candidate must possess a working knowledge of ERPs, Unanet is preferred, and demonstrate the ability to manage tight time commitments and work effectively under uncertainties and flexibility to meet changing priorities in a proactive manner. Strong working knowledge and skill with Excel including pivot tables, formulas, and data extraction. Proficiency with PowerPoint. Able to articulate analytical results based on audience and present complex information clearly . Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Accuracy and attention to detail. Outgoing, friendly, and professional with an organized approach
