    External DescriptionElectrical Engineer Norco, LAImmediate needPTO, Benefits, and 401kContracted role with potential to extendThis position is not open to international candidates, and does not offer relocation or per diemAudubon is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to be part of a project team working onsite at a client's plant in Norco, LA.

    The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical reliability and technical assurance for the Production Areas for which they are assigned.


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Key Areas of Responsibility will include:Providing technical support for the design, selection, alteration and re-rating of electrical equipment in accordance with applicable industry and company codes and standards.

    Providing technical assurance for temporary repairs.
    Providing turnaround planning and execution technical support for electrical equipment.
    Supporting the MOC work process to ensure changes fully account for electrical technical specifications.
    Managing electrical reliability threats via the work process.
    Supporting the execution for turnarounds and pitstops.
    Clear alignment on electrical bad actor threats and mitigations through effective standard designs.
    Supporting their Production Team to ensure safe and reliable unit operations.

    Acting as the first level technical resource to Electrical Inspectors to assist in the resolution of problems and development of solutions.

    Coordinate support with other technical groups, projects group and Operations.

    Reviewing, with assistance, design packages and drawings to ensure full compliance with applicable standards and to ensure that all specifications are correct.

    Participating in design and construction functions such as HAZOPS's, SHA's, PSSR's, etc.
    With assistance, recommending equipment replacement or improvements and initiating project PIF's to improve reliability of electrical equipment.
    With assistance, performing assessments in support of risk-based inspection programs.
    With assistance, ensuring the electrical system model has been updated for new electrical supply and equipment connections.
    Participating in Causal Investigations to understand equipment failures using AMS Work Processes.
    With assistance, participating in development of capital 5-year plan of prioritized asset integrity risk.
    Helping ensure site electrical one-line diagrams are accurately represented in Assai.
    Helping ensure electrical NRM programs are embedded into RCM/MEC plans.
    Maintaining a working knowledge in applying new and specific technologies related to Electrical condition monitoring and performance monitoring (i.e. Industrial Power Distribution, Partial Discharge testing, System condition monitoring, Infrared Temperature surveys, Protective Relaying, etc.). Reviewing the data generated to determine the proper corrective action or interpretation. Sharing this information with other Electrical Engineer(s) for training purposes.
    Managing quality of low complexity capital project scope identification and assessment.
    Additional duties as assigned.


    EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:


    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position: 2+ years' experience in similar roles.

    Analytical problem-solving skills.
    Self-Starter who can set goals and organize own work.
    Good meeting facilitation skills.

    Ability to apply Electrical Engineering principles and applications:

    Electrical Safety / Knowledge Hazardous Areas and Ex Equipment / Knowledge Electrical System Design/Modification / Knowledge Electrical System Studies / Knowledge Electrical System Protection and Control / Knowledge Electrical Standards / Knowledge Electrical Equipment Selection / Knowledge Electrical Drawings / Knowledge Electrical Construction/Maintenance / Knowledge Electrical Maintenance / KnowledgeKnowledge of the MEC Work Processes.

    Ability to identify electrical reliability threats.
    Develop, integrate, plan, execute and drive electrical strategies/tactics.
    Open and honest relationships with craft and contractor work force.
    Diagnose and present complex topics in a simple understandable way.
