    PAY RATE: $12.00/hr

    The role of a group fitness instructor at the YMCA involves leading enjoyable, high-quality, and safe group exercise classes for members.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Set a positive example for members and Y staff, embodying the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA
    2. Ensure the safety of class participants by following best practices and reporting any issues promptly
    3. Prepare all necessary equipment and supplies for classes and ensure proper maintenance
    4. Oversee proper equipment usage to prevent damage or accidents
    5. Engage with participants before and after classes to foster connections
    6. Support YMCA financial development initiatives, including the Annual Campaign
    7. Maintain required certifications and adhere to YMCA policies
    8. Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures
    9. Attend scheduled meetings and trainings promptly
    10. Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    1. High School Diploma/GED

    CERTIFICATION AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. YMCA/ACE, AFAA, or ACSM Group Fitness Instructor Certification or equivalent specialized certification

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to perform various physical activities associated with the fitness routine

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoor work environment with exposure to moderate temperatures and fitness equipment noise
