    The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is ranked within the top 5 mid-size agencies through the Partnership for Public Service's Best Places to Work in the Federal Government Rankings Our Internship Program provides students the opportunity to acquire first-hand experience in the energy industry, while gaining exposure to the Commission's work. This vacancy will be used to fill multiple positions in OE.

    Duties

    This vacancy is for a Fall 2024 internship.

    While the duties of the Student Trainee (Auditing), may vary depending on office placement, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Applying generally accepted accounting principles to financial filings made by energy companies to solve energy market and financial issues
  • Drafting work papers and summary reports to highlight accounting issues
  • Performing a variety of research and spreadsheet analysis in response to problem areas identified in filings made by energy companies
  • Participating in meetings to discuss specific project concerns or process improvements.
