    Responsible to assess, plan, implement, and evaluating the psychosocial services for patients of PrairieCare.

    The Therapist provides a comprehensive range of services to patients and their families and seeks to enhance the functioning of patients.

    Lead therapists take on additional responsibilities with respect to providing guidance and direction to others within their areas of subject matter expertise, precepting, and training during onboarding processes for other therapists/associate therapists and may at times function as a conduit of communication between therapists on their team and therapists, other roles, and/or leadership across the organization.


    Responsibilities:

    • Provide group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy for assigned patients
    • May work with children, adolescents, and adults and serve patients with mental illness, and/or a combination of both, as assigned
    • Coordinate care with other providers and treatment team, as applicable, especially upon initiation of services and discharge and otherwise as indicated
    • Communicate with caregivers/guardians to keep them involved in treatment decisions
    • Available to provide coverage for other therapists/associate therapists when absent or as the need arises due to increasing census or other factors
    • As applicable, contribute to the interdisciplinary team the perspectives of their unique training and clinical lens
    • Oriented towards, educated in, and embraces interculturally responsive functioning from lenses of gender, race, age, and other cultural identifications and differences
    • As applicable, facilitate weekly team meetings, provide clinical education to staff, collect and communicate about progress measures
    • Participate in improvement projects, committee opportunities, or clinical enhancement opportunities including research and consultation
    • Attend required training seminars, staff/team meetings, and/or rounds as applicable. Engage as an active participant within organizational or level of care initiatives
    • Maintain clinical records and confidentiality of client medical records according to PrairieCare policies, level of care requirements, and HIPAA rules
    • Prepare and submit accurate and timely billing records per policy and level of care requirements
    • The lead therapist will participate in training for new therapists/associate therapists, students/interns, and psychiatric technician staff, provide on-site supervision, monitor fidelity of program staff as applicable, engage actively within organizational initiatives impacting their level of care, as applicable, and remain a resource for other staff members as pertaining to their subject matter expertise

    Requirements:

    • Master's or doctoral degree and licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMF), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Psychologist (LP)
    • Two years of clinical mental health experience preferred
    • Qualified to maintain company-provided required malpractice insurance
    • Have computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office products including Outlook and Word
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in written and verbal form
    • Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
    • Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potential emergency situations
    • Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
    • After training, be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients
