    ContinuousGeneral PurposeUnder general supervision, performs a variety of cleaning and custodial functions and assists in maintaining assigned County buildings and facilities.


    Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
    High School Diploma/GED Certificate from an accredited institution and six months of custodial experience involving the cleaning and maintaining of interiors of buildings

    Required Licenses or Certifications:


    Valid New Mexico driver's license or ability to obtain a valid New Mexico driver's license within 30 days of hire.

    Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

    Ability to maintain a valid New Mexico driver's licenseMust pass a background check applicable to position. This position is subject to random alcohol and drug testing in accordance with Sandoval County Personnel Rules and Regulations Article XIII Drug and Alcohol Policy and Testing- Drug Free Workplace; and Sandoval County Detention Center Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

    Part 1/C108, Chapter:

    Essential Job Functions Responsible for a wide variety of cleaning and general custodial services; empties trash and removes to outside trash containers; and changes lining in trash containers as needed; within offices, dusts and clean desks, chairs, cabinets, and telephones; cleans window sills; washes windows on both the inside and outside of building; and dust mops tile floors within offices on a regular basis.

    Thoroughly cleans floors and other furnishings on a regular basis; wet mops tile floors; cleans restrooms including emptying of trash, sweeps floor, cleans wash basins and urinals in men's restroom, toilets, walls on bathroom stalls, mirrors and wet mops the floor; replaces soap and paper product supplies in restrooms and sanitizes restroom floors; sweeps outside and inside entry areas as directed; dust and wet mops the hallways; light fixtures, and ceiling fans as needed.

    Sweeps and maintains sidewalk areas around facilities.

    Performs daily walk-throughs to identify items that need maintenance such as light bulb replacement, clogged drains, toilets, and other minor repairs.

    Maintains physical and perpetual inventories; monitors level of supplies available and informs supervisor, in writing, when new supplies are required.

    Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
