- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs. Ensure that IEP goals and objectives are appropriate, measurable, and aligned with state standards.
- Plan and deliver instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Modify curriculum materials and teaching strategies to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, behavior management, and social-emotional development. Implement effective behavior intervention strategies and support students in developing self-regulation skills.
- Regularly assess and track students' progress towards their IEP goals. Use various assessment tools and strategies to gather data and inform instructional decisions. Prepare and present progress reports to parents, administrators, and the IEP team.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with parents, general education teachers, support staff, and other stakeholders involved in the students' education. Attend and actively participate in team meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities.
- Provide direct instruction to students with special needs in both individual and small group settings. Utilize evidence-based instructional methods and assistive technology to promote academic growth and skill development.
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field. Hold a valid Texas Special Education Teaching license or be eligible for licensure
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Have knowledge of various disabilities and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Exhibit strong classroom management skills, including the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment, implement behavior management strategies, and promote student engagement.
- Display the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, including general education teachers, support staff, and administrators. Experience with multidisciplinary team collaboration, such as IEP meetings, is highly desirable.
