The Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Team is leading a journey to advance the use of analytics across the Lab.

We aim to make data readily accessible and trusted, accelerate the time-to-insight, and enable deep-dive analysis on an array of information.

In collaboration with our Lab partners, our projects aim to uncover the story hidden in the data and to leverage data science techniques to predict outcomes and inform next actions.

Job Description:

This position is REMOTE. The candidate is able to work remotely from any location.

They may be asked to take up to 2 trips per calendar year to Lexington if the program/project requires it (expensed).

Candidates must be able to support EST hours.

We are in need of a Data Modeler/Analyst to admin enterprise BI portals and to develop new analytic solutions using PowerBI as well as administration to support SQL server.

As a Data Modeler/Analyst, this individual will be instrumental in developing advanced Power BI applications to meet our business needs.

They will work closely with our data science and analytics teams to design, develop, and optimize data models that drive actionable insights.

The individual's expertise in SQL, SQL Server administration, and Python will be crucial in ensuring the efficient management and manipulation of data.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights.
Manage/Admin Enterprise BI portals by updating meta data, data catalog and BI governance.
Develop and optimize data models for analytics and reporting, with a strong focus on star schema design.

Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin or ER/Studio is considered a nice-to-have, enhancing your capability to create efficient and scalable data models.

Manage SQL Server, including administration, optimization, and maintenance of databases.
Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data.
Develop and maintain documentation for databases, data models, and Power BI reports.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics and visualization.
Must Have:

Experience with Power BI development and data modeling.
Familiarity with Erwin or ER/Studio for data modeling.
Expertise in SQL
Strong understanding of star schema and experience in designing efficient data models for analytical processing.

Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is also a plus.
Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation tasks.
Expertise in SQL Server administration.
