    Job Description

    Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

    A surgical technologist plays a crucial role within the operating room, assisting surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures. Skilled anticipation of the surgeons needs and quick handling of instruments help optimize surgery time and outcomes. This position requires strong knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment, as well as meticulous attention to sterile technique and patient care.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and maintain the surgical field by collaborating closely with nursing and surgical staff.
    • Anticipate and promptly provide the necessary instruments and supplies during surgery.
    • Assemble, transport, and track all surgical equipment, ensuring nothing is left behind.
    • Inspect, decontaminate, maintain, and repair surgical tools while keeping inventory records current.
    • Assist in patient care tasks before and after surgery, including shaving, transporting, and applying dressings.
    • Monitor and operate relevant medical machinery related to patient vital signs as needed.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • NBSTSA certification (required and must be submitted with application)
    • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required and must be submitted)
    • Minimum of 3 years recent surgical technologist experience in a hospital setting
    • Familiarity with community hospital environments is beneficial
    • Ability to work 8-hour shifts effectively and reliably
