The Principal Automation Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for architecting, designing and implementing our automation platforms for the marketplace.This position is part of the Automation Engineering team and will be remote. The ideal candidate can reside in the United States, UK or the EU. This position will support locations in Marlborough, MA, Portsmouth, UK and Uppsala, Sweden.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Define the global vision and direction of Cytiva's automation platforms for our commercial unit operations and solutions.
Engage with business stakeholders to understand core value drivers and develop a roadmap that describes the phased transformation from current to future state.
Drive the standardization of technologies across the business, including definition and implementation of global standards for automation platforms, system architectures and software applications.

The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in "STEM" Majors Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years' experience in the design and implementation of automation hardware and software for discrete and process control systems in multiple manufacturing sectors including life sciences.
Expert-level experience with PLC/PAC based controllers, HMI/SCADA development, industry recognized DCS systems and associated automation hardware/software components and the development lifecycle.
Provide leadership, technology guidance and mentoring of others throughout the team to create state of the art automation software best practices and design methodologies with a focus on differentiation and value return.
Manufacturing for biotechnology, pharmaceutical or similar regulated industry aligned to GAMP-5 best practices.
Provide leadership, technology guidance and mentoring of others.
Collaborate with other cross-functional technical leaders (Hardware, Software and System Design) to define best-in-class frameworks and interfaces to rapidly develop solutions.

This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
