Summary:
Assist professional caregivers in providing patient care, handling patient transport and equipment, setting up and managing patient rooms, and performing various clerical tasks, transcription, and desk area maintenance at the patient care unit.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during routine examinations and procedures, and in acquiring equipment and supplies.
- Thoroughly review patient care documentation to identify significant changes in the patient's condition and promptly report to a registered nurse or physician.
- Perform a range of clerical tasks including organizing workload, greeting visitors, researching information requested by staff, transcribing physician orders, and maintaining medical records.
- Provide clinical support by maintaining the work area, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, changing linens, restocking supplies, and assisting in staff orientation.
- Deliver direct personal care to patients as per the care plan, such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and taking vital signs.
- Assist in patient education and document their understanding of instructions.

Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
- Nurse Aide I Registry with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
Professional Experience Requirements:
- One year of clerical or customer service experience and six months of nursing assistant experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
- Fluency in verbal and written English is a must. Ability to develop computer skills if needed.
