The Registered Radiology Technologist I performs medical imaging examinations under the supervision of a physician.

Scope:

As a Radiology Technologist, here are some of the key responsibilities you'll have:

Access, manage, and update patient medical records using Hospital Electronic Medical Record Information System.
Accurately retrieve patient medical records
Enter physician's orders correctly into patient records
Evaluate documentation for ongoing patient care
Share patient information with other hospital services
Uphold patient confidentiality following privacy and HIPAA guidelines
Adhere to core competencies as per the ARRT Standards of Ethics
Educate, interview, screen, and explain imaging and safety procedures to patients, addressing the biological effects of radiation and/or magnetic field protection to alleviate concerns and ensure patient cooperation
Position patients on imaging table and use immobilization devices as needed for safety or to capture optimal views of specific body areas, as requested by a Physician and following Radiologist protocols
Administer contrast media orally or via intravenous administration following Radiologist and/or Pharmacy guidelines
Monitor patients during procedures either in person, via two-way communication, or through control room technology
Follow universal safety precautions, radiation protection techniques, and magnetic field education to minimize exposure to patients, oneself, and colleagues

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or diploma from a two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training
Valid ARRT certification
Current Montana State Licensure
Active BLS certification accredited by the American Heart Association
