    Description


    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (
    CVPICU) position at a pediatric specialty hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of
    CVPICU experience and night shift availability.

    Details

    Pediatric cardiovascular ICU (
    CVPICU) setting within a children's hospital
    Patient population includes post-op open heart surgeries, single ventricles, complex cardiac anatomy/physiology, heart transplant, and heart failure
    Unit has 32 beds with an average daily census of 21 patients

    Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2

    Procedures and monitoring include invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, ART, RA), ECMO, CRRT, vasopressors, cardiac drips, and sedation drips
    Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
    13-week contract
    Requirements

    Active NE or Compact RN license required

    Current certifications required:
    BLS, ACLS, PALS; CCRN preferred
    Minimum 2 years of
    CVPICU experience required
    Proficiency with invasive hemodynamic monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and post-cardiac surgery care
    Experience with ECMO required; pulmonary artery pressure (PAP) line insertion/management preferred
    Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and administration of blood products

    Respiratory skills required:
    ventilator management, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, ABG interpretation, and HFNC

    Medication experience required:
    antiarrhythmics, continuous sedation, IV vasopressors, pediatric dosage calculations, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
    Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Additional Information

    Provide complex critical care nursing to pediatric cardiovascular patients, including post-operative and transplant populations
    Former permanent employees of this facility are not eligible to apply
