    Job DescriptionJob Description*HYBRID*A prominent manufacturing company in the metro Detroit area is seeking a Supply Chain Program Manager to join their team.

    This is a direct hire opportunity.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIESServe as the primary liaison between the Project Development Team (PDT) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) for designated programs, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration.

    Take charge of purchasing activities within the assigned product group and program(s), overseeing the entire procurement process from pre-award stages to Start of Production (SOP).Develop and implement a comprehensive component sourcing strategy, evaluating quotations, conducting negotiations, and ensuring the timely issuance of purchase orders.

    Collaborate with commodity teams to achieve fulfillment of purchased Bill of Materials (BOM) targets and adhere to Tool budget requirements.

    Establish and maintain strategies to ensure sufficient capacity and tooling lifetime for both new and carry-over components.
    Efficiently manage prototype and pre-series parts ordering and tracking processes.

    Monitor and ensure supplier Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and facilitate the timely completion of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for purchased components.

    Oversee the execution of change requests, ensuring they are completed on time and within business case targets.
    Actively participate in program reviews, representing SCM, and coordinate follow-up actions within SCM as necessary.
    Travel to production sites and supply bases, responding to needs and requests as required.
    JOB QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED/PREFERRED)

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.5+ years of progressive experience in professional purchasing roles within the automotive industry, including technical/commodity purchasing and purchasing project management.

    Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing tools, negotiation methods, and effective business communication.
    Working knowledge of automotive commodities, materials, and processes, including stampings, plastics, and assembly.
    Experience with APQP/PPAP and familiarity with new program launch processes.
    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data.
    Customer-focused mindset with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
    Demonstrated analytical and fact-based problem-solving skills.


    Preferred:
    Experience in Closures, Interiors, and Motors commodity

    Background in project/program managementEducation Requirement:
