- Provide direct technical assistance to city teams in the design, development, and delivery of new services and policy approaches in coordination with staff, partner organizations, and philanthropic funders.
- Design and facilitate direct connections and collaborative learning opportunities among cities.
- Serve as a subject matter and political context expert for internal collaboration with other practice areas and operational teams.
- Collaborate on the design and execution of new grant opportunities and practice offerings.
- Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and other work products for dissemination to the Center's leadership and external partners, including Bloomberg Philanthropies.
- Organize and support meeting facilitation with external stakeholders including governments, philanthropy, nonprofit organizations, and academic and public sector leaders.

Description
The Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University (the Center) seeks a Senior Advisor, Innovation to support a new, multi-year, multi-city domestic grant-funded program. The first of its kind in the world, the Center aims to advance the field of public sector innovation by marrying cutting-edge practice with world-class research in order to transform the culture of government, deliver exceptional results for residents, and inspire trust in public service.
The Senior Advisor will play a central role in supporting and overseeing the work of multiple Innovation Teams (i-teams) working in city halls around the country to build prosperous futures through climate action and advancing racial wealth equity. The Senior Advisor will do this by training these teams to engage residents more effectively and apply approaches such as human-centered design, crowdsourcing, and behavioral science. Successful Senior Advisors are likely to possess deep experience in successfully leading complex projects or initiatives in government or large organizations; exceptional relationship and stakeholder management skills; and the ability to balance broad, strategic thinking with disciplined day-to-day project management.
The Center is committed to working with communities that are focused on ending legacies of structural, entrenched racism and oppression. The Senior Advisor must be willing to think about reimagined government, knowledge, and engagement models thru the lens of dismantling these legacies.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination.
