The Opportunity:
Chelsea Piers Fitness is seeking to hire a Sales Manager. This is an opportunity to be a key person at the ground level of an ambitious, high end, growing fitness business. Our goal is to deliver consistently positive and engaging member experiences and an exceptional Sales Manager is essential to our success.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Sale of memberships
- Serve as a mentor to Chelsea Piers Fitness Membership Consultants
- Working cohesively with a team of Membership Consultants and a Vice President of Sales to be successful individually and as a team
- Establishing a strong sales pipeline, meeting sales objectives and collaborating with a team to achieve the overall goals of the business
- Managing select member events geared towards engaging the membership base and generating interest in and excitement around the club
- Serving as a visible and active goodwill ambassador with members and at select special events
- Work closely with the marketing team to align sales efforts with promotional campaigns and initiatives
- Foster a data-driven sales culture through the adoption of a technology-enabled sales process
- Lead weekly sales meetings
Qualifications:
- Analysis and understanding of key business metrics that directly impact membership growth
- Self-motivated/entrepreneurial spirit with an outgoing, diligent and affable disposition
- Superior customer service skills; excellent and clear communication skills, both verbal and written; strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
- Passion for fitness with a team-first mentality
- Ability to work on nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- 3+ years of Membership Sales experience, preferably in a high-end fitness environment
