    VCPUSD has a history of excellence, serving 4,000 students in grades PK - 12 in the beautiful rural communities of Valley Center and Pauma. The school district covers approximately 300 square miles in northern San Diego County. Our district is known as a leader with educational technology, award winning Dual Immersion (English-Spanish) program, outstanding music programs, competitive athletic programs, high graduation rate and Partnership for Success program with CSUSM.

    We use technology as a resource and learning tool to ensure students are 21st Century Learners. All schools are transitioning to the Common Core State Standards and Smarter Balance Assessments as teachers and administrators work together to provide quality instructional strategies for all students.

    Requirements / Qualifications

    The job of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), under the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist (OT), was established for the purpose/s of utilizing specialized equipment and treatment techniques to facilitate implementation of individual educational programs related to motor and functional skills development.

    Experience: Previous work with children; experience working in a variety of settings, including clinic, school, and home; experience working collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and working with families, training others in the appropriate implementation of educational programs related to the development of motor skills.

    Education: Associate degree in Occupational Therapy

    Certificates and Licenses: American Occupational Therapy Association Certification; National Board of Certification for Occupational Therapy; CA driver's license and auto insurance.
