- Drive safety standards and safety projects with a goal of zero accidents.
- Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules/assignments as needed to meet on-time delivery and revenue targets.
- Mentor direct reports.
- Manage and evaluate training requirements for all positions.
- Communicate all shift staffing needs.
- Provide monthly revenue projections to management.
- Calculate and publish performance metrics.
- Coordinate
with other departments including Purchasing, Reliability Center, NPD
Development, Maintenance Wearhouse and Engineering Departments to meet
deadlines and manage all external needs supporting the Value Streams
objectives. - Ensure inventory accuracy and traceability requirements are met.
- Lead daily pre shift meeting with shift personnel.
- Ensure payroll accuracy and provide payroll approvals including coordination of vacation/PTO with front line supervisors.
- Work with DOO or Operations Manager to publish monthly production plan, daily plans, and corresponding work assignments.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities/projects.
- Coordinate material needs with Purchasing and Planning Departments
- Provide Customer Service with delivery dates and lead times.
- Perform quarterly department performance presentations.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented working environment.
- Participate in the hiring and onboarding process for new direct reports.
- Provide
solutions to problems by coordinating activities and updating current
processes/procedures to improve safety, productivity, delivery, and
cost. - Other related job assignments as directed by direct supervisor or upper management.
- Communicate daily job assignments and expectations including safety goals and daily targets.
- Appraise & monitor performance results of the Value Stream team members to established KPIs.
- Leads
and participates in cross-functional teams as required in developing
production schedules and material needs, improving quality, cost
savings, and all other information necessary for a smooth operation. - Coach, counsel & initiate enforcement of all safety and workplace policies and procedures
- Issue discipline to employees who fail to meet job expectations.
- Document all disciplinary actions with HR.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Production, Operations Management or Engineering required; masters degree a plus.
- Working knowledge of Operational Excellence techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams while instilling a continuous improvement mindset.
- Requires
competency in building effective teams, conflict management, drive for
results, learning on the fly, and employee motivation. - Minimum
of five years Production/Operation Management experience with
experience in complex assembly manufacturing environment preferred. - Minimum of five years experience working within an ISO based quality system.
- Experience managing a unionized workforce is a plus.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
The Value Stream Manager (VSM) at Powerex is a key leadership position in the organization.The
selected candidate will be responsible for all Value Stream activities
and report directly to the Director of Operations (DOO) or Operations
Manager. Fostering a well-trained and motivated staff, the VSM will lead
all direct report supervisors and manufacturing employees using
established plant policies and procedures to drive Powerex towards a
zero accident, zero defect, on-time delivery and continuous improvement
culture. This is a 2nd shift position 3:00 PM to 11:00PM
