    Description

    National Airlines, based in Orlando, FL, operates a fleet of B747, B757 and A330 aircraft to provide customers with a broad array of domestic and international operations. National Airlines specializes in time sensitive and special handling requirements, utilizing , and A-330 aircraft to accomplish its missions worldwide.

    Job Title: Mission Planner

    Location: Orlando Florida

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    Summary: The Mission Planner researches each proposed flight operation for compliance as it relates to permissions, feasibility, and risk analysis. The Mission Planner interfaces and is the main point of contact between the commercial and SOC team. Mission Planners help ensure that all National Airlines trips comply with Federal Air Regulations, company guidelines and foreign government requirements. In addition, the Mission Planner provides technical data to support the SOC'S internal and external customers.

    Duties, Responsibilities, and Authority:

    • Ensuring all aspects of flight operations is considered before handing over the flights to Day of Operations.
    • Ensuring all missions operated by National Airlines meet the airport and required regulatory requirements before scheduling and executing the mission.
    • Ensuring all Domestic and International restrictions are complied with any applicable restrictions are built in NAVBLUE (Flight planning system) on a timely manner.
    • Interface with Commercial Operations on trip feasibility, scheduling concerns and solutions to ensure each proposed mission can be accomplished considering all the possible constraints.
    • Providing route analysis which include projected en route times, fuel burn projections, within applicable route requirements.
    • Identify and secure all required overflight and landing (including diplomatic) permissions and set realistic expectations by providing expected lead time required for obtaining each permit for regular and special restriction flights.
    • Identify any additional insurance requirements for the carriage of special cargo such as dangerous goods or operations into high-risk areas.
    • Conduct aircraft performance and airport suitability check for each leg of flight to ensure payload requirements can be met or providing the restrictions to commercial team.
    • Securing required permits through Civil Air Authority (CAA), flight support teams or military as appropriate.
    • Maintain all necessary documentation for ensuring Foreign Air Operator Certifications for National Airlines are up to date.
    • Build confirmed trips in AIMS (Airline's scheduling system) using NAVBLUE (Flight planning System)
    • Coordinate with Maintenance Control and Sales to ensure future planning.
    • Coordinate with Ground Operations to ensure all necessary ground support is available for the stations that the company intends to fly to.
    • Coordinate with Crew Scheduling on crew requirements and make appropriate adjustments to best utilize the resources.
    • Coordinate or advise the Director of SOC, Director of Operations and/or Chief Pilot on special mission requirements.
    • Coordinate with the DOD on military missions as necessary to ensure on time performance or delay communication is maintained.
    • May be asked to act as a dispatcher if the need arises for currency or operational requirements.
    • Any other projects or Duties as assigned by the Mission Planning Manager and Director of SOC.

    Qualifications:

    • Able to provide work authorization to legally work in the United States of America.
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent aviation work experience preferred.
    • Aircraft Dispatcher's Certificate is required.
    • Minimum of 3 years Dispatch, Flight Following or related Mission planning experience preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of Aeronautical information publications (AIP), Aircraft Performance, Route planning and Schedule planning in ADHOC operations is preferred.
    • Must have a working knowledge of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
    • Basic understanding of U.S. Military contracts for flight operations preferred but not required
    • Exceptional communication skills with complete fluency in written and spoken English.
    • Foreign language skills (read, speak, and understand) preferred but not required.
    • Pass a ten (10) year background check, pre-employment drug test and criminal history records check (CHRC)
    • Proficient with Microsoft office products (Excel, word, PowerPoint, etc.).

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
    • Ability to work flexible schedules to support the 24/7 operation including Night Shifts. Holidays, etc.
    • Ability to adapt to changes and working in a high paced environment with a positive attitude.
    • Able to work in a team environment and have strong attention to detail.
    • Able to multitask and use different means of communication including emails, phone calls etc.
    • Regular attendance and punctuality.
    • Compliance with COVID19 vaccination policy. (Policy will be explained during interview process)
