    GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
    The person in this role will professionally and confidentially partner with operations leadership on all related people needs. This includes proactively engaging and addressing leadership and employee questions and needs. He or she will also develop and improve HR-related reports, and schedule and present HR and EHS training to plant employees.

    A. General Responsibility
    Coordinate activities of workers and transport drivers concerned with distributing product for same day shipping. Direct responsibility is from the end of the manufacturing line to the distribution centers. Supervises reconciliation of the product on the shift. Ensures a supply of equipment (racks, trays, dollies and baskets) for a smooth production run.

    B. Nature and Scope of Position
    Primarily interfaces with production, transportation, and sales departments, with periodic interface with all other departments. Follows company policies and procedures to ensure product is properly handled accounted for and inventoried. Maintains established time schedules set and communicates with production and distribution on any variations to the daily dispatch. Communicates outcome with Shipping Superintendent on any variations of schedule or issues on the shift.

    C. Duties
    • Assist Distribution Superintendent by identifying work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
    • Issue written and oral instructions and administering discipline if not followed.
    • Examine work for accuracy, efficiency, and conformance to policies and procedures.
    • Maintain harmony among workers in a union environment.
    • Monitor shippers' and drivers' productivity.
    • Assist employees and drivers with work processes, route directions, equipment problems, and etc.
    • Administer and manage computerized shipping system.
    • Practices and complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety and other work rules.
    D. Qualifications/ Requirements
    Associates degree or Bachelor's degree preferred; or one or more years related experience and/ or training in the field. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction. Knowledge of how to use basic math skills using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions both oral and written. Computer skills including spreadsheets, word processors, and databases.

    E. Additional Information
    This job may include being able to lift and move totes up to 50 pounds each. Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head. Walking in and around the shipping area with great frequency. Must work hands on loading and unloading. Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours. Should be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation. Able to access all areas of building, which may include ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation.
