    What is the job?

Reporting to the Can Plant Manager, the Front-End operator will operate the machinery in a new, state-of-the art facility. The machinery includes the Upender, Uncoiler, Cupping Press, Body Maker, Trimmer, and Heat Set Oven (new process). This 1-year-old facility uses waterless technology and is the first of its kind in North America

    What will you do?

    • Operate the Cupping Press, initiate start-up procedures and operations of the Body Makers Operations, and perform various manual and mechanical production functions. This includes operating, adjusting, and repairing equipment to meet customer specifications.
    • Monitor output and maintain optimal levels of production.
    • Conduct inspections of in-process materials, as well as in-process quality and finished products.
    • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment.
    • Perform troubleshooting on production equipment as needed.
    • Help in assembly, overhaul, and rebuild production equipment as required.
    • Provide on-the-job training and development for fellow co-workers.
    • Replenish supplies, materials, parts, and tooling required for the assigned work area.
    • Execute record-keeping duties as directed by management.
    • Regularly review and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and control plans relevant to the assigned area.
    • Cross-train in all areas of production to enhance versatility.
    • Recognize waste streams and minimize waste generation through prudent material use, proper disposal, and segregation.
    • Comply with environmental regulations for using, dispensing, or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes.
    • Adhere to established job safety practices, policies, and procedures outlined in plant directives for safe work performance.
    • Operate under FDA regulations to ensure product quality and safety.

    A successful candidate will be...

Goal-oriented – You are happy when everything is moving and grooving but jump into action once you see the slightest issue with the machine. You know that if the machine goes down, we are jeopardizing our customers on time delivery. Safety, Efficiency and Quality remain our top three priorities.

A Team Player – You bring a collaborative and team-oriented approach, respecting the views and contributions of others. Whether it's brainstorming ideas or fostering team spirit, you thrive on working together to achieve shared goals.

Mechanically Inclined – When something needs fixing, you don't hesitate to dive right in, drawing on your wealth of experience to understand how machines work. Must be able to follow maintenance procedures and SOP's.
