    Sr. Lead Database Engineer

    Job Summary:

    This position is responsible for the overall delivery of service level agreements (SLAs) associated with tasks and projects attributed to the Database Engineering team. Tasked with critical database management, including but not limited to creation of, performing maintenance for and maintaining database results by enforcing controls and standards, monitoring database efficiency and taking action as necessary. Designing and preparing reports for management, and ensuring the company's data remains protected from breaches and attacks.

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Enhances the scalability and performance of existing database architecture.
    • Develops database structures and features according to organizational needs.
    • Orchestrates and manages the day-to-day activities for the database engineers.
    • Protects data by enforcing data security and restoration policies, procedures, and controls.
    • Controls and executes schema changes, mass data changes.
    • Conducts diagnostic tests and evaluate performance metrics.
    • Develops procedures to ensure data integrity and quality.
    • Prepares and presents system performance reports to leadership.
    • Performs database maintenance, migration, and upgrading hardware and software.
    • Documents processes and complying with best practices in database management.
    • May lead projects and perform other duties as assigned.

    Education & Training:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology required.
    • Six (6) plus years experience in database engineering.
    • Two (2) plus years leadership responsibility.
    • IBM Certified Administrator - DB2 preferred.
    • MySQL Database Administrator preferred.
    • Azure Database Administrator preferred.
    • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Advanced proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).
    • In-depth knowledge of database technologies, architecture, and data security, specifically Db2.
    • Knowledge of best practices in database management.
    • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
