    SUMMARY:


    The Occupational Therapist main goal is to implement services and assess motor skills of students in conjunction with the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Washington State ESA certification for Occupational Therapist.
    • Prior experience in educational setting desired.
    • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with special education staff.
    • Knowledge of SPED law, policies and procedures.
    • Skill in Data Collection, Progress Monitoring, and implementation of Motor Services.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information as necessary.
    • Ability to develop and maintain high standards of performance.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, community, and staff.
    • Ability to work effectively with a range of personnel in the district and schools.
    • Working knowledge of appropriate motor assessments.
    • Demonstrates respect and confidentiality.
    • Serve on staff committees as required.
    • Perform related tasks consistent with the scope and responsibility of the position.
    • Must have good human relations and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, and show initiative when appropriate.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Programs

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Possess a Specialized Degree as an Occupational Therapist.
    • Completed District application forms.
    • A letter of interest.
    • Placement file and/or at least (3) letters of recommendation.
    • A resume
    • Copy of ESA
    • Copies of college transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable for application purposes)
    • Ability to work individually and in a collaborative or team approach.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, orally and in writing.
    • Ability to work with students in multi-aged groups.
    • Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies as well as district / legal requirements.
    • Ability to meet punctuality and attendance expectations.
