- Experience submitting IRB protocols, recruiting study participants, and obtaining written informed consent.
- Experience working on human clinical studies and preference will be given to applicants with experience working with patients with substance use disorder
- Be willing to conduct study interviews, track study participation and the distribution of study incentives.
- Be able to coordinate study meetings with the investigative team and provide ongoing assistance to ensure that the study activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Perform data entry, data quality assurance procedures and prepare data for analysis.
- Contribute to other study-related activities as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in public health, psychology, sociology, neuroscience or other related field
- A minimum of 0-6 months of experience conducting human clinical research preferably experience working with patients with substance use disorders or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience using REDCap
- Familiarity with statistical software packages used for data analysis
- Compliant with WVU Medicine guidelines for working in clinical settings
- Ability to work between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday and flexibility to work early evenings as needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook and Excel).
- Proficiency in data capture software (e.g., REDCap) and analysis software (e.g. SAS, Stata).

The Research Assistant will work on a clinical research study and will investigate the use of a novel intervention to improve engagement and retention in treatment for patients with comorbid chronic pain and opioid use disorder.
