    Overview

    Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Practice Administrator I for the Orthopedics Department at Atlantic Medical Group.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

    Direct oversight of Orthopedics Practice Operations in multiple regionsEnsure compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies, corporate compliance, system protocols and office procedures and communicating policy changes to appropriate staffMediate or assist in the mediation of conflicts, differences and misunderstandings between and amongst patients, staff and physiciansIdentify and address performance and behavioral problems of staff; counsel and discipline according to policy.

    Recognize and reward performance when applicableEnsure patient, staff and physician satisfaction for all assigned sites to the highest level of excellenceWork closely with physicians to enhance practice operations, maximize reimbursement, collections and contain costsMaintain and manage relationships with key hospital and system departments to garner appropriate resources and supportProvide input for the development of budget and financial goals.

    Gather data and write justifications for personnel, capital expenditures for equipment and suppliesCreates action plans to ensure budget variances are appropriately identified and correctedEnsure office staff members are trained and versed on all applicable information systems associated with the practices and assist with all transitions to EHR's, as applicableInstitute and maintain tracking of physician activity to ensure all revenue is capturedMaintain communication with the billing company to ensure timeliness of data transfer and reasonable closingAssist in the preparation, review and monitoring of annual budgetsAssist in monitoring physician productivity for incentive compensationParticipate in professional development activities to keep current with trends and practices in healthcare administration and provide training to staff as necessaryProvide ongoing feedback and coaching and perform all performance appraisals for direct reports and work with Practice Managers to ensure timely and accurate completion within deadlinesFacilitate communication among physicians, staff and administration establishing a climate that encourages teamwork and promotes collegial collaboration among all team members including regular staff meetings/physician meetings with Practice Managers to discuss operational, financial and strategic initiativesAssist the Practice Managers in providing staffing and cross coverage between and within practices to maximize group productivity and minimize overtime/temporary staffingInterview and select high quality candidates and on-board and train new staff membersOversee the maintenance of the facility, assuring a safe, clean and pleasant environment for patients and staffMonitor progress toward achievement of yearly operational and financial goalsPlan for changes in resource requirements including staff, technology and spaceWork with all internal credentialing departments for smooth and accurate record keeping of all required documents and contractual relationshipsCommunicates regularly with individual physician members regarding operational performance issues specific to each practiceUndertake special projects/assignments and AHS/physician initiatives as directedThe Practice Administrator assumes responsibility for the operational management of multiple practices (multiple groups of physician leaders at multiple locations) to enhance our ability to deliver high quality, safe, affordable patient care within a healing culture to improve the health status of the communities we serve based on PRIDE (Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity and Excellence).The Practice Administrator assumes responsibility for ensuring the cost effective delivery of quality patient care while striving for continued improvement in operating and financial performance.

    The Practice Administrator may have management for the Practice Managers and others on the operational team.

    The Practice Administrator will remain abreast of financial and operational growth goals for the department/practice and strategize for continued improvement in operating and financial performance.

    In conjunction with AMG leadership, the Practice Administrator plays a key role in the implementation and enforcement of the practice's strategic plan(s).The Practice Administrator may have management for the Practice Managers and others on the operational team.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:
    High School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor's Degree requiredMasters degree preferred

    Minimum Experience:

    Minimum seven (5) years of leadership experience in multi-physician/specialties setting including physician practice billing, coding, quality assurance and experience in relevant area for assigned department/care center/practiceQualificationsProven leadership and change management skills preferredEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to analyze satisfaction, financial, operational data and develop plans for improvementKnowledge of laws and medical terminology relating to the management and operations of physician practicesUnderstanding of financial incentives and requirements of physician practicesExperience working with medical center operations and staffStrong analytical skillsExcellent organizational and customer service skillsDetail orientedProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power PointCandidate must have excellent communication and computer skills.
