Overview
Under the direction of the MD/APP, provides high quality patient care using a team based approach working with other disciplines in the physician office- setting.
Uses clinical knowledge and skills to provide care to newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations across the health care continuum.

Responsibilities
Advocates for the patient/significant other. Demonstrates skillful responses to customer needs based on particular context of the situation.
Provides patient with health care instruction and information as identified and initiated by the provider, and appropriate to his/her needs as stated in the plan of care documenting information provided and patient response Assists in identifying patient problems, patient and family goals, and communicating with the provider and health care team.
Implements plan of care as directed by the provider and documents interventions performed according to Cone Health's and CHMG's policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Implements proper procedure, technique, and safety precautions as ordered by the provider and as warranted by condition of patient, and monitors such practices among other staff members.
Documents patient response to interventions and communicates effectiveness to provider Assists with scheduling patient appointments, tests, admissions and follow-through with physician orders.
Obtains all appropriate prior authorization or pre-certification for patients. Utilizes websites or payer hotlines to verify if an authorization is required for any service. Carries out referral orders to other specialty offices, performing required documentation and coordination.Coordinates tests with schedulers, pre-certification staff, and patients and their families Assists with the preparation of equipment, exam rooms, and laundry.
Assists with restocking examination and work areas as assigned and as necessary. Cleans exam rooms, work areas, and equipment per Cone Health's, CHMG's, and practice's policies, procedures, standard, and guidelines.Demonstrates through knowledge and practice, principles of infection control and universal precautions, adherence to OSHA standards, Cone Health and CHMG standards, JCAHO standards as applicable, and Hazardous Material guidelines Demonstrates personal accountability and effective conflict resolution/negotiation skills.
Demonstrates appropriate use of universal precautions and use of personal protective equipment. Promotes positive, supportive, and professional work environment free of disruptive behavior. Follows Chain of Command for assistance with issues related to unresolved/problem-solving and/or conflict resolution. Provides, seeks, and receives constructive feedback. Provides peer-to-peer feedback and seeks mediation as necessary.Facilitates building and preserving collaborative and respectful relationships Establishes a caring and therapeutic relationship with the patient/family and other team members in order to foster high quality care.
Recognizes communication barriers, identifies resources and establishes plans to resolve barriers to communication.Demonstrates respect for diversity and cultural differences in patient/significant others related to age, ethnicity, gender, religion, socioeconomics, education, personality, or other unique variables Performs general patient care under the direction of the provider.
Collects patient history and medical information including any additional information such as biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors needed to provide complete treatment of the patient and documents in medical record.
Performs clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with prescribed procedure and technique, and according to Cone Health's and CHMG's standards, policies, procedures, and guidelinesQualifications
EDUCATION:
LPN - Graduate from a formal LPN education or CMA/RMA - Graduate from formal CMA/RMA program (preferred) or CMA/RMA - High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
1 year in a clinical setting, Preferred

REQUIREDBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderLPN ? Successfully pass NC Nursing Boards for LPN and maintain a current and continuous unrestricted LPN License.orCMA/RMA - Certification or Registration as a Medical Assistant by one of the following: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), OR National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
