    Description

    Well-respected Regional Property Management firm in business since 1981 with expanding fee management portfolio is looking for a resourceful, community-minded team member.

    The recertification specialists primary responsibility will be to recertify existing residents for continued occupancy. This responsibility requires organization and great attention to detail. From time to time the recertification specialist may be asked to assist the Leasing Department with the qualification of prospective residents. On a daily basis, the recertification specialist may be conducting interviews, processing paperwork, interacting with various vendors and agencies, and at the same time, assisting with the several administrative and leasing tasks required to keep the rental office running smoothly. The recertification specialist must be able to multitask well, all within specific time constraints.

    Responsibilities will include
    • Schedule resident recertification interviews
    • Processing initial, annual and interim recertifications, in addition to retroactive rent calculations while conforming to all regulations and guidelines.
    • Calculating rents for annual and interim recertification, identifying households with income reporting discrepancies and making rent adjustments, reviewing applicant files and determining Section 8 eligibility.
    • Maintain resident files in accordance with company policy & regulatory agency policy
    • Maintain property waiting list
    • Coordinate apartment inspections for recertifications
    • Run and maintain EIV binder
    • Assist office staff with other tasks, including the collection of rents and social activities

    Qualifications

    Must be able to read, write and communicate verbally in English
    • Must have previous recertification experience Section 8 or Public Housing is acceptable. A COS and/or TCS or similar certification is preferred.
    • Must be organized
    • Must be proficient with computers knowledge of BostonPost property management software is a plus but is not required.
