    The Historic Taos Inn is in search of a Doc Martin's Bartender to join our dynamic team

    THE ROLE

    Bartender

    The Bartender is responsible for delivering excellence in guest service by developing relationships with guests, providing personalized service, anticipating, and delivering guest's needs. The Bartender comprehends the cocktail and beverage menus, prepares drinks as requested by our guests and serves food and drinks to our guests either directly or via service staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Full accountability for people, product, and profit in the hotel.
    • Provide excellent, courteous, and professional service to all guests.
    • Ensure hotel culture is ingrained in all aspects of the business.
    • Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas and the establishment.
    • Perform opening and closing procedures, handling bar tabs, and table transfers.
    • Accurate cash/credit handling, upselling food and beverage items.
    • Extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages and the menu.
    • Check identification for age verification and monitor guest needs.
    • Provide personalized service, resolve complaints with hospitality.
    • Adhere to hotel policies, local laws, and sanitation regulations.
    • Maximize revenue, assist in staff hiring, training, and mentoring.
    • Monitor inventory, make pricing decisions, and assist in menu development.
    • Engage in ongoing beverage education for the team.
    • Lead by example in quality, safety, and customer service standards.

    Ideal Candidate

    • Loves to invite people to visit the space and works their butt off to make sure they have a memorable time.
    • Loves to make sure that staff and guests are smiling and laughing as much as possible, whenever possible.
    • Is passionate about all things food and beverage.
    • Invite awesome people to visit the space, and never let them leave.

    Requirements

    • Prior management experience overseeing a beverage program.
    • Advanced knowledge of beer, wine and spirits.
    • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to ongoing changes.
    • Able to work nights and weekends.
    • Self-motivated, well organized, ability to motivate others.
