Pay: $14 - $16 / hour DOE

Shucking oysters safely and efficiently according to established standards and procedures.

• • Inspecting oysters for freshness and quality after shucking.
  • Using proper techniques and tools to open oyster shells without damaging the meat inside.
  • Removing oysters from their shells and presenting them neatly for serving or packaging.
  • Following food safety guidelines and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the shucking area.
  • Assisting with other kitchen tasks or food preparation duties as needed.
  • Working efficiently during busy periods to meet customer demand.
  • Communicating effectively with kitchen staff and servers to coordinate orders.

• High school or 1 year similar experience required.
• Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate English.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively engage others verbally
• Ability to read and comprehend data sources, recipes and manuals, written work instructions, policies, procedures and other work materials in English in order to perform essential duties in accordance with safety, sanitation and operational standards and trainings
• Ability to read and follow safety instructions related to the utilization of cutting ware and other safety equipment

• Frequent lifting, moving and carrying of kitchen ware, cleaning equipment, food boxes, garbage etc. weighing up to 50 pounds in the BOH.
• Regular and prolonged standing and walking to prepare food, clean work station, move garbage, etc.
• Occasional ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to move food items, equipment, etc.
• Frequent use of hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms
