    Position Overview:

    The Department of Surgery at Loma Linda University School of Medicine is seeking a fellowship trained surgical oncologist to join our team for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery.

    Patients with a wide variety of complex general surgical oncology conditions are managed in the Loma Linda University Health Cancer Center and its network of clinics with a full complement of multidisciplinary specialists.

    The applicant must have a commitment to research and education and will work closely with medical students, residents, and fellows.

    The Department of Surgery currently trains one Complex General Surgical Oncology fellow per year.

    The Division of Surgical Oncology includes Complex General Surgical Oncology, Breast Surgery, and Endocrine Surgery faculty in a Commission on Cancer accredited academic cancer program.

    The division services a variety of practice settings, including a tertiary academic medical center moving toward NCI designation, a safety net hospital, and a community cancer program.

    Across all settings, surgeons have access to nine robotic platforms, which have enabled development of advanced minimally invasive approaches, including robotic Whipple procedures.

    With a focus on education, the division offers one of five ACGME accredited Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowships in California and is one of only four institutions west of the Mississippi River with ACGME training programs in the big three of cancersurgical oncology, medical oncology, and radiation oncology.

    There are ample leadership opportunities in this division. Candidates must have appropriate board certification and licensure. Women and underrepresented surgeons are encouraged to apply.

    Benefits & CompensationThe compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank:
    $310,000 - $330,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
