    NATURE OF WORK:

    Performs professional accounting work which may include overseeing lower-level accounting personnel in the performance of specialized accounting functions. Primary duties include organizing, maintaining, reviewing, recording, and interpreting financial records, preparing financial statements and reports, and participating in the design and revision of manual and automated accounting systems. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through reports, periodic internal and external audits, conferences, and results obtained.

    Starting Salary:Accountant I $ per hour Accountant II $ per hourAccountant III $ per hour

    Minimum Requirements

    Accountant I: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 6 months of accounting experience required.

    Accountant II: Same as Accountant I, plus one year of experience in governmental accounting required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    Accountant III: Same as Accountant II, plus two years of experience in governmental accounting required.

    CPA desired. Must pass a criminal background check and polygraph.

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:

    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
